Galangae (Alpinia Officinarum) is a natural product also known as the small Galanga root. It is a ginger related plant that originated in Southeast Asia. The plant itself can grow up to two meters high and can be recognized by the long thin leaves and white with red flowers.
Several health benefits are linked to the use of Galangae, partly thanks to the flavonoid Galangin present. This substance has potential antibacterial and antiviral properties. Galangae is also taken because it may support circulation and digestion and may even act as a natural aphrodisiac. The herb can be used in several ways. For example, it is possible to make tea from it.
